What is Axon?¶
Axon aims to be a comprehensive developer platform that aims to cover and standardize processes and tooling for common use cases like AI/ML training and deployment, app development and operations and data storage, transformation and access.
Warning
Axon is currently a POC on GCC 2.0, rated up to cloud-confidential eligible. Our end goal is to replicate the platform onto a confidential environment to support more workloads.
What does Axon provide?¶
Shared services¶
Axon will have a centralized authentication and observability platform, allowing single sign on (SSO) to all its services and built-in logging and monitoring.
Developer portal¶
A one stop interface to create a new team, manage team members, billing and view logs, plugins and templates across the platform.
AI/ML engineering¶
Axon has GPU clusters available for orchestration. We aim to provide a through track from experimenting to production deployment of models. This includes built-in connections to stores, data versioning, experiment tracking and comparisons, feature and model stores as well as model training, evaluating and serving.
Data engineering¶
Axon provides ways to author and run scalable data pipelines with centralized compute, supporting batch and streaming ingestion and transformation of data. We provide a scalable data lakehouse architecture for centralized data storage, with in-built data access control and sharing.
App development¶
Axon provides a standardized way for continuous integration and continuous deployments. With ephemeral environments, feature flags and secrets management, go from development all the way to production. Deploy dependencies like databases and other infrastructure together with your application for the true DevOps experience.
Why the name Axon?¶
axon /ˈaksɒn/
(noun)
The long threadlike part of a nerve cell along which impulses are conducted from the cell body to other cells.
The goal of Axon is to serve as a neural center, a one stop shop to build, deploy, orchestrate and operate all kinds of development efforts.
